Marry, Me Joel!

In 2021, I was on the Marketing and PR team that put on the elopement contest at Chihuly Garden and Glass in 2021. This contest was for couples who either had their wedding postponed or canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The couples were chosen by a panel of “love experts” (aka, myself and my coworkers) for a 10-minute wedding officiated by none other than Seattle’s own Joel McHale. The ceremony took place in the Glasshouse on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.

Besides being on the panel to choose the final couples, I also handmade Joel’s mask which he wore during the event. I learned all of my sewing skills from my Mom, and growing up I loved to bead and embroider.
